I LOVE to camp. It's one of my favorite activities. Unfortunately, I don't get to do enough of it, due to school, my job, and other commitments.
My family has been going camping twice a summer for over 10 years. We go once over the 4th of July weekend, and again in August. It's car camping, so it's not real, but I'll take it over nothing. We go with about 6 other families. It's a lot of fun more for the social event that it is than the actual camping experience.
I really would rather backpack though. In fact, over July 17 - July 20, 1995, me, my father, and three family friends hiked some of the Presidential Range in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. It was a really great trip. Grueling, but very enjoyable. Here's a map of the route we took (with explanations and stuff.) I've added some cool pictures, and I think that it looks quite smashing.
Well we are all set for our trek in August and have reservations for 8/4 at Pinkham,8/5 at Lakes, 8/6 at Mitzpah, 8/7 at Zealand and 8/8 at Galehead and then we'll have to find a jacuzzi. Hopefully we'll be able to pull this off with everyone's schedules.
